Description

A basket contains, holds, protects, and helps us move things from place to place. How can a simple basket evoke sensations and feelings in young children?

The Basket is a dance theatre performance for young audiences, based on Quek Hong Shin’s book The Incredible Basket. Performers from Rolypoly Family will take the audience on an exploration of the possibilities, and inspire the tall and short audience members to discover what the basket can conjure in our lives and in our imaginations.

Held in Ground-Up Initiative, an independent community and farm space in Khatib, this evening performance is set against a natural backdrop, opening up a sense of space and time for the audience. Attendees can expect to interact with the performers and the props.
